Getting Your Sticks There & Back
When arranging to ship your clubs to World Golf Village, you can send them to either the King & Bear or the Slammer & Squire golf shops or your accommodations. Please note that the two courses do not neighbor each other so select your pickup point and destination accordingly.
Stay & Play
World Golf Village offers several options for on-site accommodations. Choose from the AAA Four-Diamond Renaissance Resort or the Bluegreen Vacations Grande Villas – both properties overlook the Slammer & Squire golf course and offer scenic panoramic views. Enjoy a casual yet inviting dining experience for breakfast and lunch at either the King & Bear or Slammer & Squire. Both golf clubs offer a full-service restaurant and bar open daily. But if you’re looking for a spot to Eat, Drink, and be Murray then swing on by Murray Bros. Caddyshack for some Chicago inspired fare and a signature cocktail. Who knows, you might even run into Carl Spackler or Danny Noonan themselves while you’re there!
4 Legends, 2 Historic Golf Courses
Who wouldn’t want to play the only golf course ever designed by golf’s greatest legends, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus? Well, you can check that off your bucket list by playing the King & Bear Course at World Golf Village. Opened in 2000, the King & Bear has received many awards and accolades and hosted several notable events including Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf and a PGA Tour Champions event.
Not to be overshadowed, is the Slammer & Squire course, which coincidentally falls in the shadows of the World Golf Hall of Fame. You literally get to tee off from under the tower of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Opened to the public in 1998, course designer Bobby Weed teamed up with two other golf legends, Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen for the design of Slammer & Squire. In October of 2018, World Golf Village is marking its 20 year Anniversary with a weekend-long series of events and celebrations.
