What makes the tourist town of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin so inviting? Could it be the enjoyable water sports available on the second-deepest 7.5-mile lake in the state? Or the boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment found in the heart of downtown? We believe it’s all of this and more.
The town has been recognized and awarded as:
- One of the United States 20 Greatest Summertime Lake Towns
- The World’s 12 Most Luxurious Lake Towns
- Number two on MSN’s Best Little Lake Towns in America
- One of the ten Best Small Town for Adventure by USA Today.
We’ve gathered up our favorite things to do at Geneva National Resort and Club, check them out below!
Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino all were on the course during the design process of the three courses on property. The three came and played their courses once completed. Geneva National has meticulously maintained these layouts and landscapes.
The recently upgraded greenside bunkers on the Palmer and Trevino courses are filled with thick kinetic Moon Sand. The Palmer greenside bunkers are being converted to Better Billy Bunkers in Fall 2019.
The Palmer Course – Hole 17 is ranked #11 in Arnie’s personal Dream 18 in the eastern states. The 573-yard par 5 features a green that looks like it’s in the middle of a lake. The course winds through rolling woods and concludes with the three final holes directly along Lake Como.
The Player Course – Hole 10, a par-5 offers a downhill green that sits along a pond and hits toward the 100-year-old Crane mansion. This is the only Player designed course in the state which takes advantage of the natural wetland and woodland surroundings that feature massive elevation changes.
The Trevino Course – This is the only Trevino designed course in the Midwest. With dog-leg rights on nearly every par 4 and 5, this course plays to his natural shot shape. The course features an elevated tee box and a hidden creek guarding the green.
During your stay, we encourage you to stay at The Inns of Geneva National. Featuring six boutique group golf villas with views of Player’s 18th fairway. Every villa has six bedrooms with privately keyed guest bedrooms, spacious common areas, a full kitchen, rec and dining rooms, and a private patio with a grill. Did we mention they also have a putting green so you can practice your game before you head out on the course?
Other accommodation options are available at the redesigned Ridge Hotel that offers shoreline views of Geneva Nationals Clubhouse, an outdoor bar and lounge, coffee and wine bar, and award-winning Crafted Americana restaurant.
A new upscale five-star standard all-suite hotel with 32 coastal-inspired suites will debut in May of 2020. The suites will offer private patios with breathtaking views of the Player Course 18th fairway green and the shoreline of Lake Como. In the late summer of 2019, they will break ground on this exciting new addition to the property.
New Clubhouse + Kitchen
Lake Geneva offers two on-site dining options for guests. Turf and the Hunt Club Steakhouse.
Turf – The Turf Bar is located along a wall of windows that overlook Palmer’s 18th fairway and green. This is a new expanded bar and restaurant option as of 2019. The signature must-have dish is their Surf & Turf Burger. Staying in theme with the burger, their featured cocktail, the Tito’s Lawn Mower features rosemary gin and tonics that are made in a pretty mesmerizing process, that you can see here.
Hunt Club Steakhouse – Located in the Crane Mansion, with panoramic views of hole 10 of The Player’s Course, this dining option is a must. Loyal diners draw to this hotspot year-round for its premium choice cuts, winning wine list and clubby ambiance. With accolades from TripAdvisor and Open Table, this southeast chic restaurant delivers a passion for excellence with every dish and drink.
