Tiger Woods 2014

The 2014 PGA Tour isn’t quite in full swing yet but it’s still in swing.

The Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines concluded this past weekend and while it isn’t the first event of the year, it draws some of the top players in the world and is unofficially regarded as the beginning of the 2014 season. However, with Tiger finishing in 81st place, Phil withdrawing due to back problems and a handful of not-so-well-known players at the top of the leaderboard, it wasn’t quite as exciting as we all would have liked it to been.

But not to worry, there are a handful of events that should be fun to watch in the coming weeks, and though most of us would just rather skip the next three months and turn on The Masters, we’ll all just have to wait.

UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS TO WATCH:

AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am – Feb 6th – 9th – This tournament always attracts a number of the top players in the world and pairs them with some of the most famous golfing celebrities. One of the more entertaining events on the schedule.

World Golf Championships – Accenture Match Play – Feb 19th – 23rd – Golf’s version of the NCAA Tournament. The top 64 players in the world going head to head in matchplay for four days in the Arizona desert.

The Honda Classic – Feb 27th – March 2nd – The first leg of the Florida swing and also one of the most exciting tournaments of the year. One of the more difficult courses the pros play on all year, PGA National is home to Jack’s famous Bear Trap — a closing stretch of 4 grueling holes where the tournament is usually won or lost.

World Golf Championships – The Cadillac Championship – March 6th – 9th – Host to one of the biggest purses on tour, the top players in the world never miss this tournament. Tiger’s won this tournament 7 times so if you like him, you won’t want to miss it.

Arnold Palmer Invitational – March 20th – 23rd – Once again, if you like Tiger Woods, you’ll want to watch this tournament. He’s won it 8 times including the past two years. If The Masters is the “main course”, the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill is certainly the appetizer.
