North/South/East Course

Grand Cypress - Golf Course

Jack Nicklaus meticulously designed each of the 45 holes at the Villas of Grand Cypress were with the North and South Course opening in 1984 while the East Course followed only two years later in 1986. All three nine hole courses play to a par 36. The North Course plays the longest at 3,620 yards followed by the South Course at 3,588 and finally the East Course at a friendly 3,365 yards.

The original North/South combination is a demanding shot-makers course that penalizes wayward shots. Scenic views include ledged fairways, flowing mounds and greens protected by water and sand. The friendlier East course offers generous landing areas with fewer bunkers. The signature fifth hole on the East course features a beautiful par three island green.

Although the North, South, and East Courses offer unique challenges, the layouts all complement each other for an unmatched day on the links. In 2008, Nicklaus redesigned and renovated several holes on the North and South Courses resulting in a longer and more distinguished golf experience.

New Course

Grand Cypress - Golf Course

Nicklaus, who won 3 British Opens, stated, “My love affair with St. Andrews and the Old Course began in 1964, and to this day, remains one of my favorite golf courses in the world to play.” The New Course at Grand Cypress opened in 1988 and pays homage to the Old Course at St. Andrews. This course is probably the closest thing most will experience to the links golf at St. Andrews.

The 1st and 18th holes are the most comparable, even down to similar stone walls, bridges, and bunkers. In addition, Grand Cypress has the Hell Bunker, Valley of Sin and several double greens. The New Course measures 6,773 yards from the back tees and plays to a par 72.
